As standard, our frames are constructed with one of the following:

• D-RINGS & WIRE

Insert 1 or 2 screws into your wall, ensuring correct rawlplugs are used for a firm grip. Mount the frames wire onto the fixed screw head(s).

• 2 STRAP HANGERS

Measure distance between centre of the 2 strap hangers. Using a spirit level, mark 2 points of the same distance on your wall. Drill, apply correct rawlplugs & insert screws (ensuring firm grip). Locate first strap hanger on screw head, then the second.

• WOODEN SPLIT BATTEN

The provided split batten (to be fixed to your wall) will have pre-drilled holes. Using a spirit level, draw a faint (level) line on your wall. Place the batten on the line. Using a bradawl, mark the correct locations on wall to align with pre-drilled holes on batten. Drill & apply correct rawlplugs. Screw the batten to your wall, ensuring a firm fit. Simply mount the frame onto the split batten.

• AVOID DIRECT SUNLIGHT & UV EXPOSURE.

Before installing, track the suns movement in your room throughout the day to ensure location is suitable.

• CONSTANT TEMPERATURE

The Fine Art Trade Guild recommends temperatures between 10–25c

Avoid hanging valued artworks near fireplaces, wood burners & radiators

• AVOID HUMIDITY & DAMP

Humidity & damp encourages mould & insects. Brown tape seals on frame backs should remain intact. Humidity & heat can cause unsealing & entry points for damp & thunder bugs. Check frames periodically.

• AIR CIRCULATION

Padding on bottom corners of frames allows the frame to sit away from direct wall surface, thus providing enhanced air circulation.

Please note: Never spray any liquid or polish onto the frame, nor glazing.

• Dust frames with a feather duster.

• For glazed surfaces: remove frame from wall & gently clean with a dry lint-free cloth.

The Fine Art Trade Guild recommends frames are inspected, cleaned & resealed by a FATG Certified framer every 5 years, ensuring preservation & longevity.

Our (FATG) 5 year deep clean package includes:

• Inspection for environmental damage (basic Condition Report)

• Internal deep clean (mount, glazing & internal frame).

• Re-hinging artwork(s).

• Tightening stretched canvas’s.

• External clean & minor frame restorations.

• New tape sealants.

• New hanging fixtures where necessary.
